The Unmanned Aircraft Systems Technology Organization focuses on building, maintaining, and operating Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS). We are a 100% student-led organization and are incredibly passionate about the potential of UAS Technology.
We have a variety of aircraft at every member's fingertips. Aircraft ranging from the DJI F450 Flamewheel to the Applied Aeronautics Albatross. This wide variety will make members well-rounded and makes them extremely marketable when preparing to enter a career in UAS. We strive to make all of our aircraft state of the art with lightweight components and advanced internal components. GROUND CONTROL STATION
Our state of the art Ground Control Station (GCS) has 3 HD monitors capable of displaying Mission Planner, ADS-B tracking, and different mapping softwares. We also use them to run our RealFlight Simulators for pilot training and familiarization. Using the RFD900+ modem, we have the ability to send and receive of aircraft's telemetry at an extended range. Our GCS provides students with a unique opportunity to work within a professional setting.
UAST is the premier student organization at Embry-Riddle to gain real-world experience flying Unmanned Aircraft Systems. By emphasizing experience, safety, and professionalism, we prepare our members for an exciting career in UAS. You do not need to be part of the UAS degree program to join.
